Common Area Expectations:

CHAMPS Matrix for hallways, restroom, cafeteria, playground, dismissal, assemblies, bus and emergency procedures is included in the appendices of this document. All common areas will have posters placed in each area and the expectations will be reviewed on a daily basis with students, emphasizing positive verbal feedback when students are following expectations.

Classroom Expectations:

CHAMPS will be used as a classroom management expectation system for students to understand their behavior and academic expectations within the classroom on a daily basis. Zones of Regulation should be used to monitor student emotional state  to encourage appropriate reaction to behaviors. Teachers will incorporate Social/Emotional resources daily to teach and allow practice time for social emotional skill development. Teachers will allow for 15 minutes of Meet Up and Buddy Up daily. One 20-30 minute social emotional lesson will be taught weekly

BEHAVIOR DATA TRACKING

Classroom Behavior:

Classroom teachers will track classroom data through Class Dojo. Data tracked will include day of the week, time, subject, student behavior and resolution. Data will be analyzed and shared in monthly PBIS meetings. Team representatives will set goals and share behavior data with team members during PLC meetings/grade level team meetings. We will complete the SRSS three times a year (fall, winter, spring). This data will be used to guide SEL curriculum and as a guide for identifying small group/individual counseling needs.
 

Positive Behavior Consequences

Classroom teachers have Class Dojo in place in each classroom. Students’ positive behavior will be reinforced with a “ding” which goes towards behavior percentage. Positive behaviors will be rewarded weekly.

Positive Office Referral

Positive Office Referrals will be rewarded to students when positive behaviors are evident on a regular basis and when positive behaviors exceed expectations in place.

PBIS Weekly Reward Plan: Weekly percentages are based on dojo points from Friday MK to Thursday.

Kindergarten - 1st Grade Students who are at 90% on Class Dojo and do not receive a yellow or red card will earn a weekly positive behavior reward for meeting school-wide expectations. 

2nd Grade Students who are at 90% on Class Dojo and do not receive more than 3 bonks per week, a yellow or red card will earn a weekly positive behavior reward for meeting school-wide expectations. Classrooms in the building will vote from the same weekly reward menu for consistency and fidelity.

3rd Grade - 5th Grade Students who are 90% on Class Dojo and do not receive more than two bonks, yellow or red cards will earn a weekly positive behavior reward for meeting school-wide expectations. Grade levels in the building will vote for weekly rewards for consistency and fidelity.

WEEKLY REWARDS ARE DECIDED BY GRADE LEVEL!! STUDENT OR TEACHER CHOICE!!

Nine Weeks Guideline: GRADE LEVEL CREATES GOOD FAITH EFFORT RUBRIC

No Unexcused Absences = 2 Cardinal Cash
Perfect Attendance = 1 Cardinal Cash
No Missed Friday Reward = 3 Cardinal Cash
No Office Referrals = 2 Cardinal Cash
No Bus Write-Ups = 1 Cardinal Cash
100+ Dings for the 9 weeks = 2 Cardinal Cash
Good Faith Effort on Classroom Assignments = 4 Cardinal Cash
Total that could be earned = 15 Cardinal Cash

All Year Guidelines

Gold Club- Students who earn 95% or higher on behavior data from Class Dojo and 0 red and 0 yellow cards for the year will receive public recognition and acknowledgment on Award’s Day and receive an award.
Silver Club- Students who earn 90-94% on behavior data from Class Dojo for the year and 0 red cards and nor more than 2 yellow cards for the year will receive classroom recognition at the end of the school year.

*The first three instructional days of school will be used to “teach and RETEACH” expectations.

NO Laps or bonks will be counted toward behavior goals during the first three days.

GOAL SETTING

YEARLY:

Yearly behavior goals will be set each Fall using the data from the previous year. 2025-2026 Goals: 

1. All staff will implement PBIS (Tier l) with consistency and fidelity.
2. Implementation Sandford Harmony’s Meet Up and Buddy Up daily and  Second Step whole group SEL lessons weekly.
3. Utilize Universal Behavior Screener to determine student social/emotional needs.
4. Implement behavior interventions to students unresponsive to tier l plan. As well as maintain accurate and consistent documentation.
5. Increase positive to negative feedback at a minimum of 4:1.
6. Staff will reteach using vocabulary and strategies outlined in our school-wide behavior flowchart.

GOAL SETTING

MONTHLY:

Monthly goals will be set during the PBIS meetings based on each month’s data. Goals will be in writing each month and reviewed the following month with the PBIS team.
