First Grade Mission Statement
The mission of the first-grade team is to provide a positive and safe learning environment where students can build the foundation and gain the confidence needed to become responsible, goal-driven, and successful lifelong learners.
2nd Grade Mission Statement
Our mission in second grade is to create a classroom atmosphere of trust and respect. We will create a learning environment where students are engaged and challenged to meet their full potential. We will instill a love for learning for all children by taking risks, sharing the leadership and having fun!
3rd Grade Mission Statement
The mission of the third-grade team is to provide differentiated and data-driven instruction in order for all students to demonstrate individualized growth in literacy and math.
4th Grade Mission Statement
The mission of the 4th-grade team is to create a safe, structured and positive learning environment where students feel free to participate and engage in their learning.
5th Grade Mission Statement
The mission of the 5th grade is to develop grit and perseverance to foster a growth mindset so students can perform at their maximum ability. Through differentiation, students will collaborate and think critically to prepare for their academic future while leaving a legacy of positive earning and leadership.
Art Classroom Mission Statement
The mission of the Waco Elementary Visual Arts is to provide opportunities for discovering and exploring The Elements of Art and Principles of Design that further develop students’ imagination, skills, and self-expression.
Waco Guidance Counselor Mission Statement
The mission of the counseling program is to help students succeed by reducing barriers to learning by providing whole group guidance lessons, small group counseling, individual counseling, staff support, and collaborating, consulting and communicating with all stakeholders.
Library Mission Statement
The mission of the LMC at Waco Elementary School is to create a 21st-century environment that promotes learning for all students by providing equitable access to information and high quality, integrated learning experiences. The library will support the curriculum by collaborating with teachers and implementing literacy instruction for students.
Mission Goal #1- LMC & LMS will create a 21st-century environment that promotes learning for all students.
LMS will ensure the technology resources for the school are current and up to date.
LMS will have audiobooks and/or kindles/iPads available for struggling readers or vision impaired students.
LMS will train students on how to use technology effectively and safely.
LMS will teach students how integrating technology with literacy skills can push their learning experience to the next level.
Mission Goal #2- LMC & LMS will provide equitable access to information and high quality, integrated learning experiences.
LMS will encourage students to join STLP.
The LMS will incorporate technology resources as well as using print to conduct research, create poetry, and compare literary elements.
Mission Goal #3- LMC & LMS will support the curriculum by collaborating with teachers and implementing literacy instruction for students.
LMS will have center rotations during library class to promote literacy skills.
LMS will have a mini whole group lesson during library to promote literacy skills.
LMS will meet with each grade level team once a week during PLCs to get teacher input on ways that she/he can assist them.
LMS will do at least 2 staff training a year on technology and what the library has to offer – any new additions to the library resources.
LMS will have a check out sheet where teachers can check out technology, books, magazines, etc. to take back and use in their classroom.
Vision Statement: My vision for the LMC at Waco Elementary is to inspire lifelong learners by using print and non-print resources. I will provide a wide variety of resources to enhance student learning and meet the changing informational needs of a diverse population.
Vision Goal #1- LMS will inspire lifelong learners by using print and non-print resources.
The LMS will provide opportunities for each student to teach and learn.
The LMS will incorporate technology resources as well as using print to conduct research, create poetry, and compare literary elements.
The LMS will create an STLP (student technology leadership program) team.
Vision Goal #2- LMS will provide a wide variety of resources to enhance student learning.
LMS will collaborate with teachers to ensure resources are readily available. These resources include but are not limited to: a book room for literacy group leveled reading materials, technology such as i-pads, Chromebooks, audiobooks, and kindles, and computers.
LMS will share different types of print resources. Ex.) fiction, non-fiction, magazines, newspapers, etc.
LMS will work alongside the TRM to train teachers and students on current software, programs, and websites.
Vision Goal #3-LMS will meet the changing informational needs of a diverse population.
LMS will keep data of the school population – he/she will make note of any changes in demographics.
LMS will choose resources (books, magazines, programs) that interest specific groups like a male/female, Hispanic/Caucasian, etc.
LMS will be a liaison for community members. He/She will host literacy nights, book fairs, etc. to promote community use of the LMC.
